My research currently focuses broadly on the ecosystem impacts and feedbacks to climate change. I have three current projects:

1. 1.Mechanisms of climate-induced forest mortality: My research investigates the causes and consequences recent widespread aspen mortality event, termed Sudden Aspen Decline. Aspen decline provides an opportunity to examine physiological mechanisms underpinning terrestrial ecosystem responses to changing climate and carbon cycle feedbacks.
   

2. 2.Complex ecosystem responses to climate scenarios: Ecosystems may exhibit Irreversible, threshold, and path-dependent responses to changes in climate, yet these changes and pathways remain highly uncertain and poorly understood.
   

3. 3.Climate expertise in the media: The distribution and presentation of climate science expertise can play an important role in the media and public discourse around anthropogenic climate change.
