A Few Details...

Like any system, the Worklist Manager has a few quirks. These include:

  • Don't use your browswer's back button. It will cause an error. Use the Return to Worklist or Worklist Home buttons to return to the main worklist.
  • Don't use your browser's refresh button. It will cause an error. Use the Refresh List button instead to refresh the list
  • There are some problems with using Netscape. We recommend using Internet Explorer when using the Worklist Manager. We may be able to resolve these issues in the future, but for the July 21st release, the Worklist Manager is best compatible with Internet Explorer 5.5 and 6.0 on Windows, Internet Explorer 5.1 on Macintosh OS 9.x, and Internet Explorer 5.2 on Macintosh OS 10.x.

Set Up a Filter

If you're concerned about getting a lot of email from the Worklist Manager, we recommend setting up a filter. Filters allow you to automatically sort email from the workflow system into a different folder or mailbox. Click on the email program you use for specific instructions to set up a filter for Eudora or Outlook. These instructions are printable so that you can reference them while having your email program up on the screen.

Data Shown in Transaction Summary

While the Worklist Manager doesn't show every field from the PeopleSoft panel, it does show all of the critical data including some extremely confidential data. Please keep this in mind. Approvers will be able to review all of this information. You and your approvers are responsible for complying with the Federal law and University policy concerning the privacy rights of students, student applicants, employees, and job applicants. A breach of this confidentiality can be cause for disciplinary action up to and including termination of employment. For a complete list of the fields displayed for each type of transaction, go to the Transaction Summary Data page.

What does STF stand for?

STF stands for Stanford. In PeopleSoft, the abbreviation is used to identify fields, panels, and panel groups that have been modified or customized so that they'll be easy for the developers to identify when it's time for a system upgrade. The Workflow enabled panel groups all begin with STF since they are customized to include the Transaction Info and Identify Approvers panels.
