Filtering Workflow Emails (using Eudora in Windows)

The workflow system will send you emails for various reasons. If you would like to have those emails automatically filtered to a separate mailbox, follow the instructions below. There are also instructions available for users of Outlook and for Eudora on a Macintosh. If the instructions are confusing or don't seem to match what you see in your computer system, please submit a HelpSU ticket, and your local desktop support specialist will be happy to assist you with setting up a filter.

Note: If you created a filter for UAT, it's critical that you remove the old filter first. Click here for instructions.

1. Open Eudora. Go to Tools>Filters (on a Mac, go to Window>Filters).

2. Click the New button.

3. The Incoming box will already be checked. Click the drop-down arrow in the Header field. Select From:.

4. In the blank field next to contains, enter workflowemail@stanford.edu. You may copy and paste it from this document or type it exactly as shown.

5. In the area labeled Action, select the first drop-down box. Choose Transfer To from the list of options.

6. A button appears next to the drop-down box. Click the button and select New from the list of mailboxes.

7. Name the new mailbox Workflow (or something else you prefer). Then click OK.

8. Go to the File>Save to save this filter. Click the lower X in the upper right hand corner of your screen to close your filters.

After setting up a filter, it's critical that you check the new mailbox frequently. In Eudora, mailboxes are bold when they have new messages for review.

Again, if you're unable to use these instructions, we recommend submitting a HelpSU ticket with the problem category of "Hey, I just need help!" Your local desktop support specialist will be happy to assist you in setting up a filter. For more information about using Eudora at Stanford, go to Eudora@Stanford.
