Summary

Hopefully this tutorial has given you enough information to start your first eProtocol submission. For additional information, contact your panel manager or submit a HelpSU request online with the Problem Category of "Administrative Applications" and the Problem Type of "eProtocols - Lab Animals". Also, for your reference, several handy job aids are available in the Reference Materials section. Some important tips to remember include:

  • Use the Next and Previous arrows ( ) at the top and bottom of every page to move through the protocol, or click on any item in the left hand navigation column to jump to that section.
  • Access your protocol from the Home page by clicking the Protocol ID hyperlink.
  • You must complete the Species section before going on to the rest of the protocol. The species listed here will drive what your choices are later.
  • In sections that do not apply to you, enter N/A in the field.
  • Use the Check for Completeness as often as you like to check your progress through the protocol. Click on the hyperlinked items to jump to that page.
  • During the review process, you will receive an email notifying you when your reviewers have comments they need you to respond to.
  • You may update your protocol to address a reviewers concern by clicking Get Protocol and making any changes you need.
  • Do not begin your research until the protocol is approved and you have an approval memo.

You're ready to begin creating your protocol submission. Go to http://aplac.stanford.edu to begin.
