Introduction
Welcome to the Lab Animals eProtocol System
Tutorial. This course is the first step toward getting your protocol
submitted and approved using the new eProtocol system. The old Prism APLAC system is being retired. All new protocols and protocol renewals should be submitted via this new system.
This course is designed for protocol submitters to
get a taste of what doing a submission in the new web-based eProtcol
system will be like. This course is highly interactive. You will be asked
to perform actions just like they are performed in the eProtocol
system. It is best viewed on a computer with a fast internet connection.
Also, it is best viewed with your browser window maximized. Turn off any popup blockers in your browser. Like the application, this tutorial works best in Internet Explorer.
After completing this tutorial, you will be able
to:
- Create a new protocol
- Use the Check for Completeness
- View and print your protocol using the Print
View
- Submit your protocol
- Understand the review process
On the other hand, this course is not designed to
teach you the regulations or policies associated with doing lab animals research. You will still need to need to attend the required Animal Care and Use Training Sessions.
Navigating through this course should be much like
navigating through any other web page. The title bar will show you
the name of the course. The lesson name is displayed at the top
of each page. The column on the left will show you which lesson
you are in and give you links to the other lessons. As you finish
each page of the course, you can move forward with the arrows at
the top and bottom of the page.
Let's start with learning about creating an eProtocol.
