Photo Tour of Ankle Biter

OK, now you've seen her.  Here's a reasonably complete list of her inventory, as in what will I actually have on her that you will get, when she gets to Hanalei. NOTE:  Sails blow up, especially old spinnakers, on the way to Hawaii, so NO GUARANTEES about the chutes or headsails, or even that I'll arrive with both spinnaker poles.  Price is fixed at $6,000. It's a low price because there might be some breakage between San Francisco and Hawaii, and I know it's kind of scary to commit to buying a boat sight unseen..

SAILS
one #1 (150%) headsail in very good shape, composite by Santa Cruz Sails
one #2 (125%) headsail in very good shape, composite by Santa Cruz Sails
one #3 (100%) headsail in fair shape, composite by Santa Cruz Sails
one #3 (100%) in good shape, mylar...old, but little used, by Pineapple Sails
one polyester approx 0.5 ounce spinnaker, in good shape, unusual sail by Ulmer Kolius
one 0.5 ounce nylon old, tired spinnaker by Pineapple Sails
one pristine 1.5 ounce shy kite, old but hardly used by Pineapple Sails
one dacron mainsail in good shape, two reefs by Santa Cruz Sails.

First Aid kit  that will blow your mind
spare tiller
three air  horns....two that you blow, yourself.
all the coastal flares
one cheapo inflatable dinghy and foot pump. Give it to your kids.

OTHER

The outboard motor bracket. This is a royal pain to fabricate, so I'll bring it for you even though I WILL NOT HAVE AN OUTBOARD MOTOR ON THE BOAT.
radar reflectors: 2 octohedral, 2 "mobri" style.
two aluminum spinnaker poles

What will be on the boat when I get there but is  NOT included in the sale price?

storm jib
storm trysail

AIS receiver and antenna
handheld VHF

Navik Windvane
Emergency rudder, cassette and hardware
one Autohelm 2000 autopilot (there are two of them. If one blows up, I get to keep the working one.  If they both get there, then you get one and I get one)

OK, here's the deal

I have 12 responses right now, from folks in Hawaii who are interested in the boat. Lucky me!

If you are still interested in the boat, then e-mail me again at alanhsails@yahoo.com  no later than June 5th.
I will make the survey from early May 2008 available, and you can read it over.  Get back to me with questions about the survey, if you have them.

If at that point you are still interested, then e-mail me again no later than June 12th.  Write me a paragraph about your sailing experience and what you want to do with the boat. This doesn't have to be a novel, just 200-400 words is fine. Tell me where you're from and where you plan to keep the boat. Tell me how you plan to sail it.  I will review the names and locations and get back to you. If I am so incredibly lucky as to have multiple offers, then I will rank them and tell you where you stand. I will put up a "commitment letter" online.  You print that off and snail-mail it back to me by June 20th.  That latter will basically be a contract that says that you WILL fork over the dough when I get to Hawaii, but there'll be "outs" in the case of major trauma to the boat like a dismasting or loss of the rudder or something. I don' t want to get jerked around, selling the boat when I get to Hawaii, but it's not fair for me to try to lock you  into paying for a broken boat, either.
