UNIX Documentation at Stanford

Introduction

Most of the UNIX work on campus is done onsite or remotely on the shared UNIX workstations. Anyone with a Regular or Sponsored SUNetID can use these systems. The Cardinal, Tree, and Junior compute servers provide additional computing power to the Labs and Clusters, but they can only be reached by remote connection. Cardinal is best used for email and reading newsgroups.

Note: The Consulting Desk on the second floor of Sweet Hall ceased operation July 1st, 2004. You can obtain UNIX help from the UNIX documentation section below or if you have a question, from HelpSU.
