Excel Transition from 2003 to 2007 (SLAC-1137)

Using Excel, but need to make the transition to version 2007 quickly? Learn how to use the new interface and new features, and to share files with users of older versions.

Topics include:
- Introducing the new Excel user interface

- Apply Conditional Formatting to a Table


Excel 2007: Level 1, Part A: Excel Basics, Formulas, and Formatting (SLAC-1157)

This class is designed for the beginning Excel user. Participants will learn to create worksheets, enter and format numbers and text, and create basic Excel formulas and functions.

Excel 2007: Level 2, Part B: Outlining, Functions, and Linking (SLAC-1160)

This class includes simple and complex functions, outlining and subtotaling, and linking worksheets and workbooks.

Prerequisites: Excel 2007: Level 2, Part A or equivalent experience.

Topics include:
- Outlining and Subtotals
- Creating outline levels manually
- Creating outline levels automatically
- Showing and hiding data
- Working with subtotals
- Functions
- Linking


Office 2007: New Features (SLAC-0306)
Dates: (choose one)

This course is for Microsoft Office users who are upgrading their software from previous versions of Office to Office 2007.

In this class, learn about the new productivity enhancing features in Office 2007, specifically Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint. This course is not optimized to provide skill enhancement. Instead, it focuses on teaching the differences between older versions of Office (2000, 2002, 2003) and the new Office 2007 for the existing user.


Registration Information

NOTE: Classes with low enrollments may be cancelled one week in advance.

SUNet ID Required

You need to have a SUNet ID to register. If you do not have a SUNet ID, visit http://sunetid.stanford.edu to set one up.
Note: You will need to know your Stanford University ID number in order to set up the SUnet ID.

1) Sign in to https://axess.stanford.edu
2) Click the "STARS (Training)" tab
3) In "Search Catalog", enter the course number, e.g., SLAC-1234 or class title
4) Click "Continue" to see more information about the class and to enroll in an upcoming session.
Note: "Add to Plan" does NOT enroll you.

1. Download and fill out the paper registration form for SLAC (second page).
