Description
Analog is a program to measure the usage on your web server. It tells you which pages are most popular, which countries people are visiting from, which sites they tried to follow broken links from, and all sorts of other useful information.
Changes
6.0 2004-12-19
See /usr/pubsw/doc/Web/analog/docs/whatsnew.html for the details on the changes since Analog 5.32.
5.32 2003-09-18
See /usr/pubsw/doc/Web/analog/docs/whatsnew.html for the details on the changes since Analog 5.1. Among many new features and new recognized browsers, this version of Analog now supports gzipped log files natively.
Usage
Analog by default expects to find its configuration file, analog.cfg, in the current directory. For a sample configuration file and examples, see /usr/pubsw/doc/Web/analog; a CGI script for Analog is also in that directory. In /usr/pubsw/lib/analog/images are all of the images that come with Analog; /usr/pubsw/lib/analog/lang has all of the language-specific files.
Analog cannot used as-is out of pubsw without first writing a configuration file, but with a configuration file in the current working directory it can be run out of pubsw. To specify a different configuration file path, use:
analog -G +g/path/to/config/file
(The -G option says not to look for analog.cfg in the current directory.)
