LyX 1.4.1

Summary

Description: A graphical document processor
Source: http://www.lyx.org/

Support

This package is available for all platforms. This package is unsupported and provided on an as-is basis.

Description

LyX is a graphical front-end to a typesetting system, normally LaTeX but optionally SGML instead. It combines the comfortable usage of a word processor with the high quality of LaTeX's typesetting, and for that reason LyX offers an almost-WYSIWYG view on the document. "Almost" means that the line and page breaks are not displayed exactly as they will be in the printed document. But that isn't really necessary, since LyX helps you to write portable documents with the generic markup concept.
