Changes

3.3.02 2005-06-11

See /usr/pubsw/doc/Dicts/ispell/CHANGES for details.

Usage

There are multiple dictionaries installed for other languages; to see a complete list, type:

    ls /usr/pubsw/lib/ispell

(Many are available under both their native names and English names for the language.) To spell-check a file using a non-English dictionary, use:

    ispell -d deutsch file

replacing deutsch with the name of the language that you want to use. (The name of the files in /usr/pubsw/lib/ispell without the trailing .aff or .hash part.)

ispell can also check files written in TeX, nroff, or HTML; use the -t, -n, and -h options to ispell respectively. (For the most part this means that ispell will just skip over tags and commands.) See the ispell man page for more details.
