RCS 5.7

Summary

Description: Revision Control System
Source: http://www.gnu.org/software/rcs/

Support

This package is available for all platforms. This package is unsupported and provided on an as-is basis.

Description

The Revision Control System (RCS) manages multiple revisions of files. RCS automates the storing, retrieval, logging, identification, and merging of revisions. RCS is useful for text that is revised frequently, e.g., programs, documentation, graphics, papers, and form letters.

RCS is a very simple revision control system, and most larger projects use CVS or another more full-featured package, but RCS is often still useful for single files or small directories that don't need the full power of CVS.
