GMT 4.1.2
Summary
Description: Generic Mapping Tools for spatial plots
Source: http://gmt.soest.hawaii.edu/
Support
This package is available for all platforms. Supporting this package is a low priority.
Description
GMT is a collection of Unix tools that allows you to manipulate (x,y) and (x,y,z) data sets (including filtering, trend fitting, gridding, projecting, etc.) and produce Encapsulated PostScript (EPS) illustrations ranging from simple x-y plots through contour maps to artificially illuminated surfaces and 3-D perspective views in black and white, gray tone, hachure patterns, and 24-bit color. GMT supports 25 common map projections plus linear, log, and power scaling and comes with support data such as coastlines, rivers, and political boundaries.
This description is taken from the GMT web pages.
Changes
4.1.2 2006-05-12
See /usr/pubsw/doc/Data/gmt/CHANGES for a full list of changes. This is a major upgrade to GMT over the previoulsy installed version (3.4.2). Note that GMT commands are not in the user's path by default, but can be run by prepending GMT and a space to the command name.
