Congratulations! You've completed the PeopleSoft Concepts and Navigation
course. Let's take a moment to sum up what you have learned.
- The Campus Community is a single database that stores all job applicant,
prospective students, students, alumni, staff, faculty, temps, casuals,
and retiree data.
- Everyone is identified by an Empl ID, which is the same as their University
ID.
- PeopleSoft pages are displayed in components. Each component contains
one or more pages.
- When entering data, you use the Tab key to move between fields.
- Clicking the save button saves all of the changes to the component.
- PeopleSoft stores information using effective dates, which allows
it to retain historical records.
- New information is entered by adding a new row.
- Data may be historical, current, or future. This is determined by
the effective date.
- There are four action modes: Add, Update/Display, Update/Display All,
and Correction.
- Stanford policy states that you must use Search/Match before entering
any new individuals into the Campus Community.
