• The Campus Community is a single database that stores all job applicant, prospective students, students, alumni, staff, faculty, temps, casuals, and retiree data.
• Everyone is identified by an Empl ID, which is the same as their University ID.
• PeopleSoft pages are displayed in components. Each component contains one or more pages.
• When entering data, you use the Tab key to move between fields.
• Clicking the save button saves all of the changes to the component.
• PeopleSoft stores information using effective dates, which allows it to retain historical records.
• New information is entered by adding a new row.
• Data may be historical, current, or future. This is determined by the effective date.
• There are four action modes: Add, Update/Display, Update/Display All, and Correction.
• Stanford policy states that you must use Search/Match before entering any new individuals into the Campus Community.
