Using Features: Overview

Your Pager's Features and How to Use Them

Covering - Enter another person's paging ID to which the system transfers callers paging you. After callers enter your ID number, the system tells them that someone else is covering your pages and then the system can page the "covering" person.

Paging status - Change your paging status to reflect your current paging availability. Callers hear your status setting when they attempt to page you.

Password - Set or change a paging ID password to help prevent others from changing your feature settings. Once you set a password, the system will prompt you for it each time you dial in to change your settings.

Personal greeting - Record a personal greeting that callers hear when they call in to page you. You can use this message to provide callers with more detailed information than is available from your paging status.

Referral - Enter a telephone number to whic the system refers callers paging you. After callers enter your pager ID number, the system tells them you are taking calls at the referral phone number you have entered.

Spoken name - Record your name. The recording is played back for callers paging you to help verify they have entered the correct ID.

Stored messages - When your paging status is set at "3," or "5," callers cannot page you but can store a message with their callback number. This procedure lets you pick up any callback number messages that callers may have left for you.
