  1. I don't know the URL to the new web site for Department IT Contacts.
The URL is http://itservices.stanford.edu. There is no 'www' in the URL address. No password is necessary because your SUNet ID is used for access.

  2. I don't have a SUNet ID because I'm a Hospital employee or other affiliate.
    Let me give you the directions to get one. ITSS will sponsor a base SUNet ID for you so you can have access to the IT Services Site. Go to the SUNet ID web site to request one: https://sunetid.stanford.edu/forms/request_identify. Then, send an email with the following information to Dawn Hyde at hyde@stanford.edu;
    • your new SUNet ID (just the ID, not the password)
    • your employee ID # (8 digits for University; 6 for Hospital)*

*If you do not have an employee ID because you work at a non-Stanford location, you can still have access; we just need your sponsored SUNet ID. When your SUNet ID has been set up to have access to the site, you will get a confirmation email.

  3. I'm on the IT Services Site but it says I'm not an authorized user.
We need to check your profile in our system as there may be a problem with it. I will forward your request to the project team for resolution. What is your SUNet ID? [Requeue to Application-Pinnacle]

  4. How can I get training on how to use the site?
Training sessions are held now through September, and will be periodic after that time. No RSVP is necessary:
Thursday, July 31, 10-Noon, Fairchild Auditorium
Monday, Aug. 4, 10-Noon, Turing Auditorium
Monday, Aug. 11, 10-Noon, Turing Auditorium
Thurs., August 14, 9:30-10:30, Turing Auditorium
Tues., September 9, 10-Noon, Turing Auditorium
Thurs., September 18, 10-Noon, Turing Auditorium

  5. Is it true this site is the replacement for the Department IT Contact Access I used to be able to see in Prism?
Yes, partially; use the Service Profile>Search feature to search for and review or print a profile of several services, but not all services, over which you have authority. You can search by Subscriber (name of user), or by Service Number, or by Location. Full instructions on using this feature are in the Help link on the site.

  6. What do I look at to see my monthly statement?
The Account Usage Report shows you all charges on a specific account for a selected billing period, and subscribers are listed as well. This report is the equivalent of your current monthly statement.

  7. Why does the paper statement look so different from the online Account Usage Report?
The data had to be extracted from our billing system into another application, manipulated, and then printed. In the IT Services Site, you are seeing the data directly from our billing system, as it was programmed to be displayed.

  8. I can't see the accounts I'm supposed to see on the Account Usage Report.
That means we need to update your profile in our billing system. I will forward your request to the project team for quick resolution. [Requeue to Application-Pinnacle]

  9. I can't see the Departmental Usage Report; get an error message saying I'm not authorized.
Access to that report is granted by Administrative Deans/Officers. If you can't see it, it means you are not authorized in your school or department to see it. Check with your administrative officer to ask for access.

  10. I can't see Analysis Reporting; get an error message saying I'm not authorized.
Access to that report is granted by Administrative Deans/Officers and is tied to the Departmental Usage Report authority. If you can't see it, it means you are not authorized in your school or department to see it. Check with your administrative officer to ask for access.

  11. Are there any step-by-step instructions on how to use the different features?
Yes. Click on the "Help" link in the top menu bar. There are PDF documents for each feature that contain step-by-step instructions and screen shots.

  12. Can I keep using the online CSO forms? (CSO = Communication Services Order)
No. Effective March 1, 2006, the online CSO is no longer available for the submission of IT Service Orders. To order Communication Services, please go to the IT Services Site: itservices.stanford.edu.
