When calling from outside of your Home Calling Area (HCA) the cell phone will search for a local carrier. Roaming charges may be incurred depending on the type of plan you have selected.
Plans ordered at Stanford have the Home Calling Area of: CA, AR, NV, and HI. It is possible to order a plan that covers the entire US and eliminates a Home Calling Area. The monthly fee is higher, but calls while traveling in the United States will be less expensive.
Call 5-HELP to request the change. There will be several steps in the process, some that Stanford will handle for you and some that you will have to complete. The steps will be outlined for you when you call 5-HELP.
Convenience for you and for your Department! Your bill is processed and paid by IT Services, then 're-billed' to your department and no 'reimbursement' is required. Volume discounts result in very competitive pricing for both phones and service plans.

For the first month, equipment is covered by AT&T, after that it's covered by the manufacturer for one year and normal usage. Warranty exchanges can be requested by calling 5-HELP and selecting the option for cell phone assistance.
You can expect delivery of your cell phone within 7 business days from the date the online order is placed.
The charge for forwarding your desk phone to your cell phone is approximately .45 per call.
It's an administrative fee from IT Services. This fee covers the internal billing of your cell phone charges and the addition of a feature called "Call Forward Universal" which allows you to forward your desk phone to your cell phone for one "convenient mailbox" option.
Call your cell phone number. When your greeting comes on press # and enter the password you set-up when you received your phone. The phone comes packaged with a 'start-up' password which is 1111 and the voicemail system will ask you to change it the first time you access voicemail.
