Sophos Anti-Virus 7

Description

Sophos Anti-Virus is Stanford's site-licensed anti-malware software. It can protect your computer against viruses, adware/spyware, and other malicious software.

• Supported Operating Systems: Mac OS X 10.4, 10.5, and 10.6
• Hardware: Intel-based Macs (32-bit and 64-bit) and PowerPC-based Macs
• Download File Size: 99 MB
• RAM: 128 MB

Notes

• IMPORTANT: There is an incompatibility with the Sophos "On-access scanning" for Mac OS X 10.5 users who are using FileVault that can prevent users from logging into their machine. Please see the instructions for turning this off if you are using FileVault.
  
  
• Stanford's Sophos Anti-Virus installer will automatically uninstall Norton AntiVirus version 10 if it is installed on your computer.
  
  
• If you have an antivirus program other than Norton AntiVirus 10 installed on your computer, you must manually uninstall it before installing Sophos Anti-Virus.
  
  
• Sophos Anti-Virus updates itself automatically so your version of the program and the virus definitions are always up-to-date.
  
  
• Users who back up their Mac to Apple's Time Capsule product have reported that Sophos will significantly slow down backups in its default configuration. Time Capsule users should disable the Scan network volumes option in the Sophos Preferences (under the Scanning tab, select General from the drop-down menu to find this setting) while running their backup to avoid this problem.
