Description
Eudora 5.x has several new features that support SSL, virus protection, attachments, Mood Watch, and the new Eudora Sharing Protocol (ESP).
Stanford offers POP and IMAP email services. Eudora can be configured for either service. See Is IMAP Right For Me if you need help deciding which email protocol is best for you to use.

When installing on a Mac that does not have Eudora already installed:
For those familiar with earlier versions of Eudora, the location where Eudora stores the Eudora Folder has changed with Eudora 5. Instead of being located inside of the System Folder, Eudora 5 now stores all mail, preferences, attachments, and other files associated with your account inside the Documents folder. This will only affect does not already have Eudora installed. When upgrading, Eudora will still keep the files in the System Folder.

- If you are accessing your Stanford email
from a corporation, behind a firewall, or while
traveling with your laptop, see the Email Off the Stanford Network page for information about sending mail from off campus locations.
- MacLeland 1.4 with Eudora is required to authenticate with Kerberos.
- If you are not using your Leland services mailbox, enter the POP account information from the administrator of the system you are using. To get a SUNet ID and Leland services account, go to the SUNet ID web page (Internet connection required).
