Allow Popups (recommended for Administrative Applications)

Many Stanford administrative applications, such as Kronos, Oracle, and PeopleSoft, open a new window when a web page is loaded into the browser or when a button or link is clicked on a web page. Popup blocker software prevents these new windows from opening. If you are using popup blocker software, you should disable it prior to running these applications.

Internet Explorer can also be configured to block popups. If you have Internet Explorer set to block popups, you will encounter problems when you run administrative applications that require the use of popups.

Note: Internet Explorer's default setting is to allow popups.

  1. In the left column under Web Browser, click Web Content. In the Active Content area of the window, make sure that the box for Enable Scripting is checked.

  2. Click OK to close the Preferences window.
