Uninstalling Internet Explorer 7 and Reverting to Internet Explorer 6


  1. Click the Windows Start menu and navigate to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs.

  2. Check the Show Updates box at the top of the Add or Remove Programs window.

  3. Scroll down the list of currently installed programs and updates and select Windows Internet Explorer 7. Click the Remove button.

  4. The Windows Internet Explorer 7 Removal Wizard will start. Click Next to continue.

  5. Click Finish to close the Removal Wizard. You will need to restart your computer to complete the uninstall.

  6. When you restart your computer, your browser will automatically revert to Internet Explorer 6 .

Note: If you want to reinstall Internet Explorer 7 be sure to shut down Spy Sweeper or any other anti-spyware program on your computer first. Otherwise, you may get an error message saying that Internet Explorer 7 could not be installed.
