Zimlets
Zimlets are custom tools, often called mashups, which combine features of two or more sources into a new tool. Zimlets save you time by condensing common tasks into one interface, such as referencing calendar data from an email message:
- Hover on a date (or over the words yesterday, today, or tomorrow) within a message to see your calendar for that day, or right-click (Ctrl + click on the Mac) to schedule a meeting without leaving the email message.
- Hover to display an email address or phone number, or right click for more options, such as adding or editing a contact.
Other Zimlets are available under the Zimlet heading on the Overview pane in Stanford Email and Calendar. Click the arrow next to the heading to display the list. Zimlets currently available include:
- Local: search for local businesses.
- Find-a-Resource: find and link to location, equipment, and other Stanford resource calendars.
- Distribution List Schedule: search and schedule group meetings using Stanford Email and Calendar Distribution Lists.
Additional Zimlets may be added from time to time.
