Calendar Preferences
The Stanford Calendar Preferences allows you to select the way you want to view your calendar, the day you prefer to start your week, whether or not to always display the mini-calendar, what action to take after responding to invites, and more. After you change your settings, remember to click Save before navigating to another page.
To get to the Calendar preferences, on the main toolbar, click the Preferences tab.

In Preferences, select Calendar.

General Preferences

- Default View. View your calendar. Select the view you want from the following choices:

- Start week on. You may start your week on any day of the week.

- Always show the mini-calendar. By placing a checkmark in this box, you will always have access to the mini calendar in the lower left corner of the screen.
- After responding to an invitation. By selecting Delete invite on reply, when you accept or decline a meeting invitation, the email will auto-delete from your inbox.
- Show Reminders. Select the interval for receiving a reminder about a meeting or event. Choose from the following options:

- Play a Sound. Select this option if you want to hear a sound when you receive an invitation to an appointment.
- Flash the browser title. Select this option if you want the browser title to flash when you receive an invitation to an appointment.
Creating Appointments Preferences

- Use the QuickAdd dialog when creating new appointments. By selecting this feature, each time you double-click a proposed start time on the calendar the QuickAdd Appointment dialog box appears. To enter further details or include attendees to your meeting or event, you must click the More Details... button.
- If you deselect this option, when you click on a desired time for a meeting or event on your calendar, the Appointment Details dialog box opens by default.

- Show timezone list in appointment view. If you travel between time zones, you may want to select to show the time zone list in the appointment view so that when you schedule appointments you can change the time zone if necessary.
Permissions

- Free / Busy. Select who can see your free/busy information or or specify a list of users who can see your schedule.
- Invites: Select who can invite you to meetings or specify a list of users that can invite you to meetings.
Import/Export Preferences

- Import: If you are using another calendar program, you can import your existing appointments by saving them in iCalendar (.ics) format. Submit a HelpSU request for assistance importing your calendar.
- Export: You can export your Stanford Calendar appointments in the standard iCalendar (.ics) format, then import them into another calendar program. Submit a HelpSU request for assistance exporting your calendar.
Save!
After you change your calendar preferences, remember to click Save before navigating away from the page.
