Desktop Clients
On this page:
The new Stanford Email and Calendar works with almost any desktop email client. You can continue using whatever you're using now, with no changes. This gives you the freedom to choose the best tool for you. We recommend:
- Outlook
- Apple Mail and iCal
- Thunderbird
Some clients do offer more features than others. Using the Outlook Connector, Outlook can do real time two-way synchronization of mail, contacts, tasks, and calendar.
For Mac users, the Apple iSync Connector provides the same functionality when you use Apple Mail and iCal. This means that if you send a message from the Web, it will show up in your Sent folder in Outlook or Apple Mail. If you create a distribution group in Outlook or an Address Book Group on a Mac, it will be accessible from Stanford Webmail. If you add an attachment to a meeting in the Stanford Calendar, it will be accessible in iCal or Outlook.

Eudora
Eudora sales and support have been discontinued by the vendor (QUALCOMM). While Eudora will continue to function for those who are using it, any future problems that may arise will not be resolved.
For this reason, Eudora users should make plans to migrate their existing mail to another program. IT Services recommends Microsoft Outlook or Thunderbird for Windows users and Apple Mail for Mac users. See Moving from Eudora to a New Email Program for more information.
