Sending Email from Off-campus
Overview
If you're off-campus you can still send and receive email by getting yourself connected to the Stanford network (SUNet) in a variety of ways. With a telephone/modem you can connect remotely by dialing in. With DSL service your system actually becomes an extended part of SUNet. In each case, however, you've got to tweak your computer a bit so it connects to the network correctly. If connecting via modem or DSL is not an option, you can still send email if your system is off the Stanford network.
Getting DSL Service
When you get to the Network Connections page scroll down to the "Off-campus (Remote) connections" section.
Connecting your computer to SUNet
Connecting to SUNet for Macintosh | Connecting to SUNet for Windows
This tells you how to connect your computer to the Stanford network (SUNet) via modem, Stanford DSL, or Ethernet. (Ethernet is the option to use when you're on campus.)
