Our OpenLDAP servers run on:

Dual CPU 1.8 GHz SunFire X4100 systems with 8GB of RAM and two 76GB drives.

The Hard drive mountpoints are:

HD1: /
HD2: /var/lib/ldap

Note: The partitioning of /var/lib/ldap is specifically for OpenLDAP performance gains, discussed in the BDB configuration section. We use xfs as the filesystem for /var/lib/ldap as it showed better performance than our default ext3 configuration.
