AFS on the Desktop
Overview
If you'd rather work with AFS in a way that lets you drag and drop files into folders, instead of working at the command line and using UNIX commands, you'll probably want to put AFS right onto your Macintosh or Windows computer.
Putting AFS on a Mac or Windows computer
For Windows XP and Vista and Mac OS X 10.4 and above, Stanford OpenAFS is the program that mounts AFS on your desktop. You can obtain Stanford OpenAFS from the Stanford OpenAFS Client Software site.
- Mac OS X 10.4 and above - Install Stanford OpenAFS for Macintosh .
- Mac OS X 10.1, 10.2, and 10.3 - You can no longer put AFS onto a Mac with MacLeland. Please submit a HelpSU request to discuss available options.
- Mac OS 9 - You can no longer put AFS onto a Mac with Macleland
