Health Outcomes
Research (Supervisor: Sylvia Plevritis)
My doctoral research was in nuclear physics and focused on the measurement of parity-violating asymmetries in elastic electron scattering off hydrogen at backward angles at Jefferson Lab. The goal of this work was to investigate the contributions of strange quarks to the fundamental properties of the nucleon. After completing my PhD, I changed fields to Health Outcomes Research and joined the Department of Radiology at the Stanford University School of Medicine as a National Cancer Institute (NCI) Postdoctoral Fellow. My research interests are in the computational modeling of breast cancer outcomes to improve our understanding of the impact of screening and treatment on population trends in incidence and mortality.
