OrientationActivities at this five-day introduction to Stanford range from meetings with advisors about choosing classes to mixers with housemates and residential support staff to a cappella concerts by some of Stanford's numerous singing groups. Roughly 150 undergraduate volunteers lend a hand to freshmen during Orientation, and President John Hennessy, joined by faculty and administrators, formally welcomes the roughly 1,600 freshmen and their parents at Convocation, which takes place on the Quad.
