Declaring a MajorBiology, or HumBio, computer science, economics, English and psychology are the most popular majors at Stanford but there are roughly 60 majors that students can pursue, from interdisciplinary to individually-designed majors. Requirements to complete a major constitute approximately one-third of a student's 180 units required for graduation. Undergraduates are not expected to declare a major until late in their sophomore year, and students also can pursue a second major, declare a minor or even define a course of study of their own choosing by designing their own major.
