Home of Champions
"Home of Champions" are the bywords for the Stanford Athletic Department for good reason. No athletic department in the country can boast of the kind of success that Stanford has accomplished since the 1980's. NCAA team and individual champions. Olympic medalists. Stanford University athletes have been all over the world capturing championships.
Athletic Department
Athletic director Bob Bowlsby leads a department that employs more than 80 coaches and assistants for about 800 student-athletes. Contact the department by telephone, or find information about recruiting and giving to athletics.
Recreation
The Physical Education, Recreation & Wellness department provides recreation schedules for Stanford's sports facilities, physical education classes, and the Be Well @ Stanford online wellness program for the Stanford community. Club sports and intramural sports offer opportunities in competition, instruction, and recreation for students, faculty and staff in a wide array of sports.
Fan Zone
The Stanford Cardinal Fan Zone offers streaming video of games, an on-line store where you can buy Cardinal gear, a photo archive, and the Champions Circle featuring exclusive inside information and offers for Cardinal fans.
Summer Camps
The Athletic Department invites young people ages 7 and up to experience Summer Sports Camps at Stanford. All camps offer at least 30 hours of instruction and playing time per week, with an emphasis on the teaching of fundamentals. The instructional goal is a complete understanding of the mechanics involved in the sport and, most importantly, enjoyment of the sport.
