A Portion of the French Exhibit

The French collection was heralded by most critics as one of the most attractive and extensive in the exhibition. The total number of French exhibitors was around 1,750, and the amount of area that they occupied was second only to the British. This drawing depicts a number of ornately decorated goods, demonstrating an eye for beauty that made France the "Queen of fashion" at the exhibition.
