Welcome to Stanford Wushu

Stanford Wushu is a student organization devoted to the practice and promotion of the Chinese sport and martial art of wushu.

What is Wushu? Have a look around this website and take a look at our Wushu trailer to find out. You can also come to one of our classes and see for yourself.

Our training classes meet on the Stanford campus twice a week and run throughout the year. Feel free to stop by and observe or bring your sweats and actually try out a couple of classes.

Additional information about Stanford Wushu and wushu in general can be found throughout this site. We hope you find this challenging sport as fun and exciting as we do.

See you in class!

Wushu for Class Credit
Wushu is now being offered for class credit! To take Wushu for credit, sign up for ATHLETIC 181M (under T. Ghormley) for 1 unit. The class is offered for C/NC based on attendance.

Autumn Classes
Wushu for the fall will begin on Friday, October 3 in the Arrillaga Center For Sports and Recreation. An in-class demo will be performed on the following Friday, October 10. Taiji will begin the second Monday of the quarter. As always, beginners with no previous martial arts experience are welcome to try out our practices.

Identification Required
The Arrillaga Center For Sports and Recreation, where Wushu practice is held, requires people who use the facility to be associated with the university. For Stanford students this means you must always bring your SUID in order to get into the building. Non-students, who are interested in taking Wushu or just trying out a few classes should contact Roger Liao to be put on a list for the Arrillaga Center (this will allow them to enter and practice in the Arrillaga Center)
