About
World Peace Buddhists
We're SSS (Stanford SGI members in Silicon Valley)
We are Stanford students practicing Nichiren Daishonin's Buddhism. Our group is
interested in promoting peace, culture and education on campus
and in the community.
Most of us are members of Soka
Gakkai International (SGI), one of the
largest international Buddhist organization. Some of our activities will be
joint function with local SGI organzations.
We work to embed our Buddhist practice into our everyday
lives in order to transform our characters and become more aware and courages
human beings. We recite the chant Nam Myoho Renge Kyo daily along with
chapters of the Lotus Sutra, study Buddhist and general humanistic works,
participate in
campus and community discussions, and work to excell
in our academics. We hope to support those who are struggling to overcome their
obstacles by sharing experiences with each other. Also by projecting our
realization through action, we hope to contribute to global peace starting from
the our surrounding communities.
