Chapter 4 Wisdom of the lotus sutra : This is what I heard

 

The kingdom of Xi Xia

The Introduction chapter describe the phenonemnon when Shakyamuni attain

enlightement. Eg Rain the rain of Buddhism

 

1st part – describe the congregation of myriad sentiment at the Eagle peak

2nd part – Shakyamuni enters the samadhi of the place of immeasurable meanings

3rd and 4th part – devoted to the description of this auspicious omens. Boddhisattva Meitriya voice surprise and ask how the Buddha manifest  astounding phenonmenon followed by buddha’s explanation.

This is what I heart:

This – Daimoku

I  - all disciples of Buddha = All living beings.

heard – summon the whole life to experience and understand

 

Buddhism is like ocean that one can only enter with faith

Follow means to follow Buddha’s teaching as a student follow the instruction of his teacher

Gandhi – if my soul can serve as a light of humanity, I can speak even from the grave

Nichiren – if Nichiren’s passion is truly great and emcompassing, Nammyohorengekyo will spread ten thousand years or more, to eternity

In the introduction chapter, after the passing away of the sun and moon bright, the disciple Bodhisattva Wonderfully bright stand to lead the propagation of the law – This is the spirit of “This is what I heard”

Hearing is the first of the five sense to develop

The voice does the Buddha’s work – the meaning of Kyo

Buddha’s voice is the highest among his thirty two

Voice is our second face

The three interviews – TV, Radio, Press

Nammyohorengekyo – N (Strong sound), M – source of life, r- come at the important position of the daimoku

That single sound summon forth and manifest Buddha nature of all Buddhas

Great voice of compassion that brings all being into enlightenment
