Live  the  Present  Moment                          Nov 10, 2008

This is our moment. This is our time.

Yet it is hard for us to internalize the above statements. Too often we are dwelled with the past: haunted by our failures or obsessed with our successes. Too many time we are brought down by worries of the future that would never come.

In this meeting, we would explore ways to fully live the present. In particular, we would see that this is the central theme of Buddhist philosophy, in contrary to the common misunderstanding that Buddhism hinges entirely on concepts like karma (past) or nirvana (future). We would illustrate how Buddhist practice help us to cultivate ourselves to focus at the present, and to strip off unnecessary thoughts and anxieties.

If we treat every moment with sincerity,  with the awareness that our time is now, our moment is now; if we realize that we inherently possess immense power to cope with the immediate realities, we would overcome adversities that is brought from the past and set the course for future victories.

Yesterday is history. Tomorrow is mystery. Today is a gift - so it is the present.

Please join us in the discussion and let's live each of our moment to the fullest. Yes, we can !
