The Western Conference in Immunology is an annual meeting designed specifically for graduate students, medical students, postdoctoral fellows and research assistants to present their work in a relaxed and informal setting. We are able to keep our costs to a minimum due to the generous support of our corporate and academic sponsors. WCI 2002 will be held at UCSF, and up to 25 participants can be housed nearby at either the Stanyan Park Hotel or the Hill Point Inn.
Costs:
$120 for housing and registration.
$90 for housing and registration for participants giving a poster or talk.
$30 for participants who do not require housing.
CONFERENCE NOTES:
WCI 2002 will be held at UCSF. The conference opens Friday, July 19 with a talk by Dr. John Kappler, Ph.D. from National Jewish Medical and Research Center. An informal reception will follow Dr. Kappler's talk. Research presentations will be scheduled for Saturday and Sunday morning. Posters will be displayed Saturday afternoon. The conference will end following the morning session on Sunday.
The normal registration and housing fee per person is $120; for participants who present their work, the fee is $90. The fee is based on double occupancy for Friday and Saturday nights at the hotel. For those who do not require housing, the fee is only $30. The registration fee includes breakfast and lunch on Saturday and breakfast on Sunday. More housing and directions information.
TO REGISTER:
To register for WCI 2002, please send in the registration form and enclose payment by check or money order only. Please do not send cash. Make checks payable to Western Conference in Immunology. We cannot guarantee housing to late registrants. Confirmation notices will be sent by via email to all participants unless you specifically request otherwise. If you are having problems downloading and/or printing the form, please e-mail Luke or Jeff and forms will be mailed to you.
The deadline to register for WCI 2002 is July 8th, 2002.
RESEARCH PRESENTATIONS:
Participants are strongly encouraged to present their research. This is an excellent opportunity to discuss research and exchange ideas with fellow immunologists in a relaxed and informal setting. Preliminary results from ongoing research as well as work presented at other meetings are welcome. Time constraints allow us to accept only the first 20 abstracts for oral presentations on a first-come first-served basis. All registrations for posters will be accepted.
ABSTRACTS:
Abstracts for talks and posters are due July 8th, 2002. Please use the abstract form. Talks should be planned for approximately 15 minutes followed by a 5 minute discussion period. Posters should be designed to fit a 4'x6' board. Remember -- registration fees are reduced for those who present their work! If you are having problems downloading and/or printing the form, please e-mail Luke and forms will be mailed to you.
