GERMANY: Fashisty versus National Socialism

Christopher Jones says:Cameron Sawyer misuses the term "Fascism" which he confuses with "National socialism."  This is a typical mistake dating from Soviet times: this confusion was highlighted at the Nuremberg trials, where the Soviet judges, steeped in the art of the show-trial, were anxious to avoid the use of the term "socialism." They wanted to label the defendants as "Fashisty" which of course was vetoed -- I believe Nazi was finally agreed upon.  Hitler never referred to his regime as "Fascist" and stuck with the term "National socialism", and there were some very key socialist elements in his regime, not the least being its bloodthirstiness.  By contrast, in the first ten years of Fascism in Italy, more people were executed in the United States than in Italy.  RH. Does Siegfried Ramler have any comment on the vocabulary of the Nuremberg trials? To say that socialist regimes are bloodthirsty would involve us in the history of the word socialist.
