1984 or 1985: Globalization and One Worlders

Christopher Jones says:  I would say that 1984 has already arrived.  "Inevitable globalization" and the phenomenon called political correctness have all the characteristics of 1984.  The manipulation of the electronic media to mold minds, and the branding of certain subjects as "taboo" in order to stifle dissent is a wonderful example of this.  In France, the "loi Gayssot" of July, 1990 is really a repetition of the old "délit d'opinion" under Napoleon III's early dictatorship.  By stifling discussion of subjects that are used as a ploy to deflect discussion of uncomfortable realities that could possibly arouse resentment against the masters of "inevitable globalization," the powerful "One-World-ers" reinforce their control by molding peoples' perceptions of the truth.  For example a typical theme is: globalization is the ultimate answer to nationalism, which translates into Adolf Hitler flitting across our TV screens every other night.  In fact, super-nationalist Hitler is a sort of 21st century perversion of the character "Goldstein" in Orwell's novel.  His "evil" nationalism is used to whip the masses into line if they rebel at outsourcing or the odd currency crisis. The hidden message: its either us or . . . him.  [I guess that Castro fits into this mold which would explain the media's fascination for him.]  Even David Pike explained in his recent piece that a New York Times reporter had gotten his historical facts all wrong -- I would add, they just don't count anymore.  In hard hit Germany, this has taken on surreal proportions:  the recent "liberation" of Dachau got top slot on the evening public TV news, with virtually no reference of the massacre there of 500 German guards.  [Message: payback time. The rule of law and trials were not required. voire Guantánamo and the "extraordinary rendition" kidnappings.]

To show just how far this media manipulation has gone, I am ending this note with this astounding passage was written by Kristoffer Larsson in an essay that I read last night. If WAISers wish, I can forward the whole article.

"The Jews constitute no more then between 2% and 2.5% of the American population, a fact which seems hard to believe for most Americans. According to a poll, published in October 2002, the average non-Jewish American believed that no less then 18% of the population were Jews.

Every fourth American asked answered that between 10% and 19% of the Americans were Jewish, while almost every fifth guessed that the Jews constitute between 20% and 29%. Some 12% thought the number was between 30 and 49%! "Pretty wild?" Lenni Brenner comments, and continues: "But why should gentile Americans know better? Their guesses are based on what they see. Turn on the TV, go to the movies, pick up a newspaper, follow an election, and in every case Jewish involvement is far above 2.5%. (...) Twelve percent of our Jews think they are 2% of Americans, 13% think Jews are 3%, and 11% say they don't know, which is also a 'proper' answer. But 7 % of America's Jews think they are 1% of Americans. Five percent of the Jews thought Jews are 4%. Ten percent of the Jews said they are 5%. Eighteen percent believed Jews are 6-10%. Six percent estimated our Jews to be 11-15%, and 18% of America's Jews projected themselves as over 15% of the population, a whopping margin of error of over 600%."[4]

However, being a Jew does not make one a Zionist (although, unfortunately, almost all organized Jews are Zionists). In fact, the majority of the (non-organized) American Jews opposed the Iraqi War. But the way too powerful Israel lobby did support it. Its strong support for the war was definitely a major factor that shouldn't be overseen. Still today Zionist Jews stands for a big share of the contributions to the two big parties in America. As the Swedish daily Aftonbladet pointed out."

RH: Regardless of the content of Christopher's piece, I am deeply concerned that even some WAISers wish to ban discussion of subjects in which they have a personal involvement. It is not quite 1984 since Orwell did not foresee the internet. Heaven only knows where we are going. I commend "Googlng the Future" by John Leo ( U.S. News, 5/16/05).  I am not as pessimistic as he.  I trust that, if inaccurate postings appear on the web,  someone will counter with the facts. That is the only intelligent answer.  Personal attacks are not.
