SPORTS: WAIS Conference--Sabotage!!

When I was fighting the battle against the horde of sports fans led by Miles Seeley, I consoled myself by singing a hymn by a New England transcendentalist we used to sing in school long years ago. The final lines were
"They are slaves who would not be
In the right with two or three!"
Funny the way these hymns I sang seventy-five years ago ring through my memory. Since I was really alone,
I thought of myself as the Horatio
I played in my childhood, who defended Alba (civilization) by blocking the bridge which was attacked by
the Curiatii (Miles Seeley).

Miles should know that I have discovered I am not alone. U.S. News and World Report (9/25/00) has a feature article entitled "Olympic hype and glory. Gold medals pale next to six-figure payouts. Is the amateur ideal gone?" The World Press Review ( November, 2999), quotes seven newspapers around the world which express doubts like mine.

Thus emboldened, I have developed a plan to sabotage Milesīsession on sports at the 2001 conference. He will pack it with sports commentators and other fans. My allies will sabotage the meeting with their superior arguments, but I will stay discreetly in the background.
