SPORTS: Nationalism and Internationalism--Soccer and Baseball

Miles Seeley doubts my infallibility: " I don't know where you got your information about rounders evolving into baseball, but I've never heard that there was a direct connection"

My response: I happened to see a TV documentary on the subject, and to prove that I have academia behind me, let me quote the Academic American Encyclopedia, article on baseball. "The popular myth that Abner Doubleday invented baseball is without foundation. Baseball evolved from cricket and rounders." From my papal throne, I give him my absolution.
