THE PHILIPPINES: The Catholic Church...

Religion arouses animosity as no other subject does. Stephen Schwartz angrily rejects criticism of the Philippine Catholic Church: "As a matter of verifiable fact, Filipinos in the U.S. have the second highest rate of Catholic vocations after Vietnamese. Bay Area Filipino newspapers are as worthless as those in the islands, something else I know to be verifiable fact; they are nothing but multipage gossip columns. The American Catholic Church presides over empty churches. The Filipino Church still sees masses filled with the devout. That says it all. The suggestion that the American Protestant sects do not accept money from dirty sources belongs in the realm of science fiction."

My comment: Peace on earth and good will toward all men. Both sides have presented their case. I cannot make any informed comment. In the spirit of Christmas, we must close this debate, leaving the readers to decide WAISly.
