NEW ZEALAND: The Hayward case
Commenting on the case of the New Zealand historian Hayward, the target of attacks by the Jewish community, Cameron Sawyer made a very balanced statement. Christopher Jones comments: "Bravo Cameron! I completely agree with this posting. 101%+ But be careful: fair is foul and foul is fair. Cameron mentions the numbers, and that is the heart of the dispute. (There are details which I could go into, like the film archives of the British army -- food for another posting. Only Norman Finkelstein (who is himself Jewish) has been able to begin to tackle the issue and has suffered terribly for his heresy. I also noticed the attack against the President of Romania, a posting which implied that the Holocaust was a Jewish tragedy and denying a place in this catastrophe for Europe's gypsies." RH: There are wide complaints against the Jewish assertion that the Holocaust was a unique event in history. It was not.Ronald Hilton - 8/6/03
