LAW: Re:Class action suite against Microsoft
Dwight Peterson rejects the call for Microsoft to be sued because of the virus problems with which others have infected its software:"It is beyond my comprehension why anyone can hold Microsoft liable for the incursion of a virus or hold Mr. Gates liable for almost any legal action. He has fought Bill & Hilary's America with their lawsuits and won. He makes an insane, almost sinful, amount of money, but who can fault him? Few of us live without using his technology in business or in our personal lives, and almost all of us thereby lead richer, fuller lives. From what I read, Bill Gates is very community conscious, generous to many charities and various worthy foundations and institutions. He had an idea, pursued it with his rich and fertile mind, and he has enriched himself and us under our often maligned capitalistic system".RH:
It was interesting to watch public reaction to the rise of Bill Gates. At first there was astonishment and admiration, but soon envy set in, with the unspoken aim of destroying his achievement or getting a hand in his deep pocket. He is indeed very public spirited. Interestingly, he dropped out of Harvard, finding it too dull. Do not confuse ability with one's academic record.Ronald Hilton - 08.23.03
