Milosevich
Jaqui White is among the nay-sayers. She foresees that as soon as there are American losses, the U.S. public will demand our withdrawal. She reports:
"A Texas A & M professor was interviewed this morning. He is a Yugoslav who has been here many years; his grandfather was on the committee in 1918 which formulated Yugoslavia. He stated that the various groups comprising Yugoslavia got along quite well, with much inter- marriage. It was the rise of Milosevich, with his battle cry of Yugoslavia for the Serbs, based on a 1389 treaty, who has caused all of the current problems. Nato bombing and intervention come too late; they should have been started during the Croation, Bosnia and Hercegovina fighting. Milosevich worked in banking for years in New York, and therefore understands the United States very well indeed. He knows that, as soon as any US forces or planes are lost, the American people will immediately want to withdraw from these missions."Ronald Hilton - 03/27/99
