Petra

     Most WAISers are travelers, but, after reading accounts of their travels, I understand why cruises in luxury ships are so popular. Is sounds as though Miles Seeley went without showers for several days:
     "When I lived in Jordan and went to Petra, it was not developed as it is now. I went with the Commander of the National Police and we rode horses through the siq and into the Rose-Red City, then spent a couple of nights in caves that had smoky ceilings from lamps and fires 1,000 years old. We prowled, and a couple of Bedou had set up a little stand where they sold oil lamps and fetish figures dug up nearby. I ended up with a collection that spanned many centuries."
