Israel and the Arab world
Dick Payne, who has just returned from forty years in Tunisia, writes:"I am in complete agreement with Christopher Jones. During our stay among the Arabs, the overriding complaint about the USA was the support of Israeli despite the continuing persecution of the Palestinians, particularly through actions in the UN, but on the world stage in general.
We did find that many American diplomats, though they may be obliged to show another face officially, are privately dismayed by the US State Department's stance. There can never be peace in the Middle East until this wrong is corrected".
