FRANCE: America cultural influence

Stephen Schwartz says "The French government of Jospin and Lang, and France in general, has continued to policy of attempted cultural and linguistic blockade against American influence, also with little success". RH: This attitude probably explains the rather silly messages I have received ridiculing claims for California food and wines. I have lived for years in both France and California, and French claims for superiority in those two areas seem like provincial smugness. Not that I care anything about food and wine as a source of national pride.
