Federalism
WAIS is happy to welcome as a member Francesco Rossolillo, editor of The Federalist, published in Pavia, Italy, by the Fondazione Europea Luciano Bolis.
"The Federalist is published since 1984 in two editions: an English one (The Federalist) and an Italian one (Il Federalista). The Italian edition has existed since 1959. Its first editor was Mario Albertini, to whom I succeeded four years ago at his death. The Federalist/Il Federalista does not intend to be an academic review (even if some of its contributors are outstanding academic personalities). Its themes have always been connected with a practical purpose: the commitment to the political unity of Europe. All its regular contributors are active members of the Union of European Federalists, with its main office at Brussels. It goes without saying that our journal accepts any valuable essay having to do with federalism, even if it comes from other quarters. The Federalist/Il Federalista is rigorously independent of any party affiliation. It has as its only financial support a small foundation, established in 1984 by one of our members. To be sure, this is the lot of all federalist organizations in Europe, which strongly want to be independent (also from a financial point of view) of governments and political parties.
