Official Corruption
     Tor Guimaraes from Brazil writes:
Regarding corruption and all the human abuse that goes on in Brazil, sometimes I think of my mother country as a pile of manure. The wonderful thing is that the pile grows some beautiful flowers representing many people who are hungry, poor, but refuse to participate in the evil doing. These people could easily excuse themselves based on survival or the fact that "every body does it", but instead they rise above the manure. They really touch my feelings and I am willing to do whatever I can to help them.
My comment: I agree strongly. Often the evil is the work of young punks, as everywhere. Brazilian TV carried the story of a woman school teacher, a very attractive person, who was crying because one of her students, on drugs, had hit her, leaving her badly bruised. I was almost crying as I watched her.Ronald Hilton - 12/2/99
